Pro tools suddenly quiting.

Just recently been hit with a persistent pro tools crash.
Sessions won't load and quit before fully loading.
Tried deleting 2 new plugins that I thought might have been causing the problem, as the issue started after installing two new aax plugins, but the problem still remains. I'm baffled. Really not sure what to make of this, as I've never suffered pro tools crash issues historically.

My mac is a 2014 mac book pro running osx yosemite 10.10.5

First Yosemite is not supported for PT 2018

However you might try trashing your preferences

Tried trashing preferences (worked out how) - still stuck with same issue. Is my only other option to install earlier pt version?

Other than that I do not know for certain that the OS or PT version is the actual problem but what about upgrading your OS to say Sierra ?

Try moving all plugins from plugins folder to a safe location and then start PT again and check if your session still crashes it. Then deploy by moving back the main plugins at first, then adding some more.

What version of PT are you using? Yosemite is not qualified since version 12.8.2 I think, it might work but you won't get any help from Avid.

There is a lot of standard troubleshooting stuff under the "Help Us Help You" link up the top of each DUC web page. You should be working through all that, there is little point in posting here until you have.

Get on a supported platform.

If there are problems then start with trashing prefs you have already done, then testing by moving *all* plugin out of the plugin folder, and if not that then testing to see if your session is corrupt. If other existing sessions or an empty sessions work then its likely the session and you need to try doing a Save Copy In or recover from a backup/archive or try importing the content into a new session.
