Default Assigning Midi channels to notes

As my midi knowledge is pretty primitive i'm gonna need some help here to see if what i'm thinking is gonna work.

Working with Kontakt now on PT LE 6.4 and have some sample CDs i'm using, like KIck Ass Brass by AMG.
I've set up several instruments , 7 trumpets, in Kontakt and what i would like to do is, assign a different midi channel (for example channel 2 ) to just one note within the track i'm programming in order to get this note to trigger another Kontakt instrument set to midi channel 2 (same trumpet with different layer/effect )
I already did that by drawing the note on another track and setting this track to midi channel two and it works but as there are many instruments in the instance of Kontakt the way i'm working now i'd have to open and work over the same amount of tracks as instruments i have in Kontakt.
It would be much simpler if i had the notes triggering different samples in just one track.
Could you tell me if there a way of doing this?
Or any other workaround you might think of ?

Thanx a lot for any advice on this

Will

You have to assign new midi tracks for each midi channel playing a different sound.
