Default Need sync, midi expert

I currently have a roland vs880 and was wondering if I could first record live drums (approx 6 mics) on the roland and then spdif into protools through the mbox which I do not yet own. I guess I could only do 2 tracks at a time but that would be fine. What do you guys think is the best way!!! On guy sent this info. Can it be done or is there a better way (besides digi002)?

You don't have to use synchronisation though..all you can do is make sure there's a bar of a click track recorded in pro tools from the VS before the drums start playing..pro tools has a 'tab to transient' feature..where you select the audio region..and when you hit the 'tab' key..the cursor automatically jumps to the zero crossing - the region where the sound starts to develop. Its a really awesome feature..with this..you 'tab' to the zero crossing of every click and delete the beginning and move everything to the start. Using click tracks I have synced an entire 48 track recording in under a minute!

Let me know what you guys think
