Default Manual install over Pro tools central install.

Hi.
It looks like I have issues with pro tools routing sends and receives.
When I downloaded the trial last week I did it through pro tools installing app.

Can I go into my account and down load it again manually and override the original app install ?

Thank you.

I think it is extremely unlikely there is anything wrong with the install - this is much more likely user error/misunderstanding.

I’ve replied to your other post with a possible solution.

No where near enough info to get proper help. Describe the COMPLETE system and how you installed Pro Tools. Computer specs? What interface? Have you designated the interface to be the "audio engine" in Pro Tools(Setup Menu>Hardware). If you are on Windows, set Windows Sound Properties to use the on-board sound card and NOT your interface. I'm with TJ and suspect a re-install is not going to fix it. If you brand new to all this, that's okay. Just know that there is a lot to learn

The “central app” hopefully you mean Avid Link, the name should be right there in front of you.

Looking at your other thread about problems there is no sign of any issue with the software, neither is there likely to be. You are just a bit lost using Pro Tools.

Avid Link can be buggy at times, say not offering to install correct add on plugins, and many of us just uninstall it. But it will not cause the basic Pro Tools app to mis-install. Ultimately all it does is run the same installer as you would download from your Avid.com account.

Yes, When I opened up my original purchases back in 2008, the salesman mentioned that when things aren't working it's probably me.

Thank you again all.

No problem at all. Just didn’t want you wasting your time reinstalling anything!

For future reference IMO best to install manually from your account "My Products" page As mentioned Avid Link can work fine but it can also be buggy at times

Also Besides some good basic tutorials
And once you get basic work flow down , IMO I prefer to custom name every thing and color code , especially Inputs-Outputs-Busses and Sends I think it is less confusing than just numbers to know exactly what is going where
