No sound after pause - Mbox 2 Pro Win7 64
I have an interesting issue, tried having a bit of a search through the forum but couldn't see anything that would answer my question. I've got an mbox 2 pro and when I install Pro Tools LE and the drivers and then set the default sound card for my pc to the mbox it works fine. However, when I'm watching a video or listening to music in itunes or windows media player for example if I pause the clip I won't get any sound after I unpause it. Anyone else experienced this? I know this isn't directly related to Pro Tools as such, but it's an issue that's occuring when using my mbox 2 pro as the system sound card (which is much better quality than my onboard card!!!)

Re: No sound after pause - Mbox 2 Pro Win7 64
This sounds like a firewire issue.
try to revert to original windows firewire drivers (use driver roll-back feature if you must) |

Re: No sound after pause - Mbox 2 Pro Win7 64
I have checked under the device properties and the roll-back feature is greyed out, which I would assume means I'm still using the original drivers? And there isn't an available update either.

Re: No sound after pause - Mbox 2 Pro Win7 64
BUMP
Anyone else ever experienced this? To clarify, I had this same issue when trialing PTLE8 with Window 7 64bit on my old PC which was a crappy dual-core but just figured it might have been because of possible incompatibility or something. Yet the problem still remains on my new RIG (which is still awaiting 8GB of replacements for faulty RAM)...very strange |

Re: No sound after pause - Mbox 2 Pro Win7 64
Could this possibly be a result of unplugging my Mbox 2 pro whilst the computer being on? I've only recently just read that this can cause some issue with some LE interfaces...

Re: No sound after pause - Mbox 2 Pro Win7 64
So here's the response from AVID tech support from about a week ago (still awaiting any further info:
"Thanks for making a contact to AVID AUDIO CUSTOMER SUCCESS APAC. Regards to the issue, I could reproduce the symptom on my office PC. I have asked our US headquater if this is a known issue of the driver or Windows OS Issue and if there is a workaround for this. I will let you know as far as I get information on this. Sorry for your inconvenience. Please wait for a while. Best Regards, Osamu Kawabe AVID AUDIO CUSTOMER SUCCESS APAC" Hmmm, so it seems it's not directly related to my machine (i already thought this as when I was testing Pro tools with Windows 7 on my old machine I noticed this issue, but figured at the time it might have been potential incompatible hardware on my old rig) and more likely a driver or OS issue...anyone else have an idea? Any suggestions for potential workaround? Anyone else experienced anything like this? *EDIT* Also tried with the new 8.0.4cs2 update and driver update...still the problem persists |

Re: No sound after pause - Mbox 2 Pro Win7 64
So here's the official response from Avid...just incase anyone's even remotely interested:
"Hi Daniel, The sympton could be reproduced and was logged as a bug "PTSW-134410" on our database. It will be fixed in the future update. But we are not sure when for now. Sorry for your inconvenience. Best Regards, Osamu Kawabe AVID AUDIO CUSTOMER SUCCESS APAC" |

Re: No sound after pause - Mbox 2 Pro Win7 64
Hmmmmm....Well, here's what works great for me(but it will cost some cash0. I let the onboard audio handle everything but pro Tools. How I get around the poor analog output on a mini-plug is; I send optical SPDIF to my Presonus Central Station(I set the volume in sound properties to match the volume from Pro Tools). I push a button on the CS to listen to all non-PT sound. Working great for 2 years
