Default Does anyone know if the new 8 core Mac Pro...

Will run PT LE 7.4? Just trying to find out if it will even run and recognize all 8 cores? I realize Digi does not "officially" support it yet but someone must surely know if it works? Thanks!

Mine will be here on Monday, I'll let you know.

I am prepared to wait awhile though if it doesn't work.

This is a little off topic, but does anyone know if you can clone from a Tiger machine to get Tiger working on the new macs?

I spoke to Apple and they said that you can install Tiger on the new Mac Pro 8 core so I don't see why not?

That's interesting...I understand you CANNOT install Tiger on the latest MacBook Pros that come with Leopard.

I will post results on Tuesday when I get my machine.

Does anyone have a link as to how exactly to clone a drive, or at least a link to a website? I am pretty sure, but I don't want to screw it up.

I can either clone mine with a newer iMac, a MacBook Pro, or a PowerMac (but not the last one until a week later). I figure I will try the machines I have close, and if they don't work, try the powermac when I am out of town in a week or so.

Thanks

I've had it running with no immediate problems, but I haven't had a chance to tax the system or do any in depth work.

I've read that the version of the Tiger OSX discs you use make a difference...must be the version for binary. Why can't people hold off on a $5000 machine until it is 100% supported? ( Although, I must say, the new Macpros are hot ....)
