Default Old sessions

I just got PT 10 and use under the impression that they would open my old PT 8 and PT 9 sessions . When I try to open an old session it says :
Your current playback engine does support 44.1k

Buy how are you trying to open the session? The correct way, opening Pro Tools the using the Open command to open the old session or the incorrect way of double clicking on the session file

What audio interface are you using? an Avid one or some 3rd party (system sound cards can be picky)

Please review the Help Us Help You thread at the top of the page and read the part on how to ask a question before you respond.

Craig is spot on. We really need to know about your interface and how you have it set up in "Setup".

If you're daisy chaining off one FW port then try changing the order of devices. The Focusrite is a FW400 device and if your external drive is FW800 and you have the Focusrite first it will choke down that FW800 chain to FW400. Try putting the external drive first and THEN daisy chain the Focusrite off of that via a FW800 to FW400 cable. There are opposing schools of thought that say no matter where the FW400 device is in the chain it will choke the speed and there are some that say having any FW800 devices first will still run ay FW800 speed if the FW400 devices are the last in the chain. Either way it's worth a shot swapping the chain around.
