I actually just killed the AvidAudioServer (launchctl unload /Library/LaunchAgents/com.avid.AvidAudioServer.plist). Seems like it kept pouncing on the HDX hardware every time I changed sample rates within Pro Tools, making for a very unpleasant experience. I think I'm resigned to the fact that, at least in Catalina, HDX isn't very useful outside Pro Tools. Pretty much any USB interface is going to be better. If only they'd put a USB port on the MTRX...
