Default PT update 8.0.3 to 8.1.1

I'm on PT 8.0.3 with my HD3 system - (6) 192D interfaces on a MacPro Quad core, OS 10.6.8. An older system, for sure, but it is working flawlessly as my recording-console-tape machine device. Mainly filmscore work with stem delivery in 48k/24 bit.

Does anyone have any thoughts about upgrading to 8.0.7, or even 8.1.1? Will I reap any rewards for bumping the system up?

Your thoughts are most appreciated.

Mr A

same config here. upgraded from 8.03 to 8.1.1 because of HEAT few yrs ago.
no problems at all. I noticed a problem (latest version PT 8 HD) only with the import session tracks from older versions 8.0x. something with buses and inputs (conflict of names), (solved in setup-bus(inputs)).

look at this

8.1.1 is definetely the best PT8HD out there because of HEAT.

In fact, and in my not so very humble opinion, you should stay there unless you can go all the way to latest PT10 version running on OSX 10.8.4, or upgrade to PT11 and the brave new world.

Thanks for the replies. The import issue sounds a bit nasty though.

JFreak, any comments about the import problem everyone is talking about with PT 8.1?

Thanks, Mr A
