Reliability

For the first time in several years since maintaining several PT systems, they have actually become stable. I have had so many network dis-connects, hangs, crashes, locks, you name it, it was there in abundance. No one could rectify the issues. What happened to rectify the issues? Not 100% definitive because I changed 4 things at the same time. I spent a week installing software and patching and I also upgraded the HDD to an SSD, rebuilt the OS from the ground up and to the letter in the Avid set-up instructions. I also upgraded to V3.5 on the S6 and I took the PC off the domain so it would start up quicker as it was taking up to 3-4 minutes to reboot after a crash. It now takes 30 seconds to boot. It is now, dare I say it, stable and functioning as it should. The performance increase with the SSD is amazing. Watch this space.

Now would be a perfect time to save a drive image, or(better yet) grab another SSD and clone what you have
