Jittery faders in Cubase
I don't remember the faders in Cubase being so jittery...
I didn't use the S1 (or Cubase) for a while and for some reason I find the automation being read by the faders being VERY jittery... When I grab the fader move it myself the motor is smooth, but not when it's reading the automation. Can someone confirm that this is either normal or not in Cubase? I've linked an unlisted youtube video demonstrating the jitter I'm getting. Thanks. https://youtu.be/PQKNdp2TrUI **Running on macOS Catalina 10.5.3, Cubase Pro 10.5 (tested on Cubase 10 as well) all updated to latest software (Cubase and Eucon). |

Re: Jittery faders in Cubase
Quick update:
Just checked in Ableton Live and this problem does not happen there. (I know it's using Mackie control) but still, I thought it would help to narrow down the reason for this jitter action... Any ideas? Thanks! |

Re: Jittery faders in Cubase
Are you on the latest firmware for the S1 (in 20.1)

Re: Jittery faders in Cubase
Yes,
Firmware is 20.1.4.0 Eddie, can you confirm this is/not the case in your testing? I'm just trying to figure where the problem is coming from, the unit (probably not) Cubase, or Eucon... Or possibly elsewhere. Thanks! |

Re: Jittery faders in Cubase
I'm using Nuendo 10/11. I can confirm that the faders are very jittery on the Artist Mix. I did a channel flip last night for surround work and had to return to the encoders because the fader response was so jittery it was unuseable.

Re: Jittery faders in Cubase
Does it also write jittery automation?

Re: Jittery faders in Cubase
Yes. But the work around is to just create start and end points. Then let the program fill in the distance between.

Re: Jittery faders in Cubase
It depends on the reduction level setting in Nuendo/Cubase, what do you have it set to. I agree that on playback faders are slightly more jittery than PT and this is probably due to less data being sent across, but automation writing seem fine to me.
