Default D-command firmware RESET and Xmon not working properly

Hello all,

I just bought a 2009 D-command (black one) with a XMON (REV H). Tested it at the previous owner. Xmon was working properly, except that he had to replug the Xmon after a power down. Now I've hooked it up to my system, did a firmware upgrade (from 7.xxx to 10.xxx ). So that is looking good. When I try to upgrade the firmware of the Xmon (which is running now on NO firmware ------) I get error message 1. When I power down the D-command, the firmware resets to 7.xxx again.

I just got it to work, for once, Xmon firmware v11 was downloaded and everything was working fine. Then I powered the D-command down because I wanted to leave, and now it's reset again to 7.xxx firmware and the Xmon firmware is gone. And now I get the firmware download error 1 again.

The 15 pin cable that came with it didn't seem like a "Digidesign" cable. It's a grey/melee coloured cable with a length of 3 meter. Could this be the problem?
I've also tried another standard 15 pin cable with more length. This was before I got it working once.

I've rebooted, changed power cables, sockets, reset he D-command, booted Xmon with mute button pressed (green mode).

Anyone got some thoughts?

Default Re: D-command firmware RESET and Xmon not working properly

Update 18-09

Made a new custom cable with the right pinout: http://akmedia.digidesign.com/suppor...db15_44797.pdf

Instant succes.

Could be helpful if someone encounters the problem to double check the 15 pins control cable.
