This is what I have heared, too.

And also I really cannot imagine, that they will still use the old Xmon. This would be a showstopper for me and I don't wanna go to an external monitor section like an Avocet. It should be simply integrated in the S6 like it is with d-control/command ... just better, wider, bigger ... ...

They will upgrade the XMON, in all of the live demos they never even went over the centre section saying it was "still a work in progress" i'm guessing its the same kind of soft-key layout as the c-control. I'm sure within 6 months of the console being shipped they will have something to bring thats much newer. Have faith!

So no one should by a S6 for a year because it might be upgraded by then?

I guess it'll be the same like it was with the blue/black d-control and d-command (es)
Maybe even better to wait a couple of years

I don't want to start anything 'cause my memory ain't what it once was...

But...

I saw a post on here shortly after the S6's web page went up, and I immediately checked out the page. I am reasonably certain that at that time the web page said something about XMON 2 or XMON II. But when I looked at the page a couple of hours later it just said XMON.

If my memory is correct it's kind of interesting in light of some of the other posts on this thread...

Just rockin'...what more is there?

It is possible to order the S6 M40 without XMON.

There is a great software monitoring solution for Pro Tools - it's called Neyrinck V-mon and it's packed with features. What's most important, it works entirely in the digital domain, unlike X-Mon.
In a today's world, analog monitoring solution is an obsolete thing.
It would be nice to be able to talk to V-mon using S6 monitor control panel.

At this time, M10's are only sold as bundles and include XMon.

Yes and No. V-Mon is good for mixing but not for tracking, to me.
