PT 8.0.3 + P6TD Deluxe + Intel i7 + Win7 64bit - Blue Screen (Solved).
Hi there,
I just wanted to let you know the case I've had with my brand new computer. I bought an Intel i7 920 + Asus P6TD Deluxe + 12GB DDR3 Corsair HiperX for my ProTools LE rig. I installed PT without problems with the known method (installing PT 8 from original disk, then upgrading to 8.0.3 and lately upgrade drivers for 64 bit OS BEFORE turning my interface on. Everything seemed to be ok, BUT when I started next day recording some basses my system got crazy... freezes... freezes and PT still recording without possibility to stop, errors... and BLUE SCREEN with a message about some "memory" fail... After talking with some computer store support and an Asus guy they told me that in some motherboards they had this "memory issues" so they told me to update the BIOS version of the P6TD deluxe. I went to the Asus site and downloaded the latest P6TD deluxe Bios and updated via EZFlash2 (inside the original Bios in "TOOLS" section). After doing this the computer hasn't failed again and PT is running more smoothly that before. Well that's it. P.D. "Low Latency Monitoring" is shown in the menu, but if I turn it on, nothing can be heard from the recording ready track (the other tracks in playback work as required). Digi, please... |
