MOTU 896HD setup
I was gifted an 896HD last week.
I hooked it up (FW) and installed the driver. Selected (in PT) under "Playback Engine" > Selected under "Hardware" > verified under "I/O" menu > failed to open a session. When trying to open the session, PT froze briefly, then said "Could not complete your request because AAE error -9060 was encountered." What does this mean? While I continue to search forum threads and YouTube, perhaps someone can answer quickly or shed light. TIA

Are you able to create a new session and if so, can you record/playback audio through the MOTU?

Typically you are supposed to install driver first...that way Windows doesn't try to install class compliant drivers.
Device manager and click to see which driver is being used. The MOTU should be running a nother software mixer....try that and see if that works before you mess with PT. If it won't load MOTO's own software mixer and push sound then the hardware is faulty. mk2's have FW400 mk3's have USB/FW800
