Default Syncin\' 2 001s via midi?

I was trying to find out how to sync a 001 on a Mac, with PT Free on a PC, via MIDI. MIDI on the PC is handled by a SBLive card (Joystick port Midi)

I searched tbe manual but so far none of the syncing explanations apply to my case...and I don't have a MIDI box...

Is syncing via Midi a good idea even?
