Default updating from 12.4 to 2018.4

I'm presently between recording projects, so I'm going to try to update from version 12.4 to ProTools 2018.4. Can I do this directly, or are there intermittent steps I should follow?
I always put things like this off because I inevitably run into all kinds of problems, and questions that I don't know how to answer during the download. Do I simply have to download the new version, and then all the AIR instruments in Xpand2 afterwards?
Thanks for hints and info!

Yes, there are new installers for Air and Xpand. They are marked 18.x. I'm on Windows so always uninstall PT and the HD Driver before installing. Not necessary on a MAC.
If you are on Windows, and on 7 rather than 10, you may have installation problems as 2018.4 is not officially supported on 7. The workround which I and others have used successfully is to install 2018.3 and then 2018.4 over the top of it without uninstalling 2018.3.

This is really good to know; I'm on 12.4 and have 12.8.3 (the last Win 7 version) downloaded.

Would be great to be able to use the latest/greatest.
