Default Waves strangely flutter when I play a song

All is in sync, correct, no problem.
But... the sound is something like fluttering, slowing down and accelerating like a flanger fx. Any ideas Digi?
thx

Mine did this as well. It was also distorted. I tried all different combinations of settings. With a buffer setting lower than 512 samples it seemed to sound OK, but could not record due to "held off interrupts too long". Tried external monitoring, but the distorted fluttering audio actually gets recorded that way.

Asus P2B, PII 400, 128Mb, only 1 HD - 14Gb IBM ATA 33, Creative PCI 128.

i have that problem too!!! but check this out, the "soundcheck" demo works fine but when i imported some wav. files they played back distorted. detuned almost. i have an emachines 400i tower celeron, and w98SE. crystal fusion soundcard. i know it cant be the sound card cuz the wav. was converted from and mp3. i even tried the 16bit 24bit 44.1 and 48k, no good. i wondered if it was the mp3 that was converted to wav that caused the problem but the wav file played back fine till it was imported to the protools free. any guesses why?
