Default Mixing Question

Is thier any way to erase all your mix data. To in effect normal the board if you will . I know it is possible to do this by saving a copy before starting the mix. How ever is thier away of clearing all the automation and fx data for all tracks to work on a new mix with in the same session.

Thanks for any help

Default Re: Mixing Question

Do you want to keep all the previous automation / plug-in settings and still be able to do this?? If so you'll have to Save Session Copy As, then manually reset everything. If not, you can do this in the same session ......... there are some ways to do this quickly.

If you enable the "all group" in the edit window and choose an auto parameter - such as volume and highlight the whole tune from start to finish and hit delete, then all volume automation for the tune will be deleted. Just repeat this for all automated parameters.

For plug-ins go to the mix window & hold down the Option key while selecting " no insert" on insert #1 and all plugs will be removed from the 1st insert of every track in your session (repeat for each insert) . To zero all your faders at once enable the "all group" then Option - click any fader and they'll all return to zero.

Some things to consider ....... you may want to save your plugin settings in your plug-in preset menu if you think you'll to use them again.

Also, you may want to check if creating a duplicate playlist gives you a fresh set of automation parameters to deal with ..... I don't think so, but give it a shot.

There might be other ways to accomplish this, but these have worked for me.

Good luck,
Tony
