Default input settings problem

I am having trouble with input settings. My 003 rack has 4 microphone inputs, but only Mic 1 and Mic 2 show up as available input settings in the Mix window "interface" tab. And the same under the pull-down menu Setup--I/O setup-- Input. I want to record using 4 microphones, each onto a different track.
What am I doing wrong?
appreciate any and all suggestions.

In the I/O settings, Input and Output tab, click Default.

You might want to delete the current routings before hitting default.

This is a long-standing I/O issue. What happens is that when you open sessions from someone else, you also bring in their I/O setup. When you quit the session and next create a new session, that I/O setup will continue if you leave the I/O settings as "Last Used" in the new session dialog.

Here's what to do. Setup the I/O routings and busses the way you like it and even customize the names if you like and save this I/O setup. Then, when you create a new session, select this I/O setup from the pulldown menu. This way, you'll always be sure to have your I/O setup.

Thanks for the quick reply. I did this, and re-populated the input settings with the Default settings. But now I have no microphone inputs at all, instead of the Mic 1 and Mic 2 I had before. How do I get inputs for all 4 mic inputs to show up? Thanks again!!!!

I also tried "import settings" in the I/O setup window, but it only gave me choices for "Eleven Rack" or "Control24 LE" settings, neither of which has mic settings. Now I can't even retrieve the 2-mic settings, much less 4 mics. Argh!
