002 Distortion
This is my first post.
I will be as articulate as a first timer can be. I set my 002 to standalone mode to start my install. No computer or PT software to this point. I plugged a CD player's left and right out into the alt monitor source left and right. I pressed the alt monitor button and heard the CD. Unfortunately it was distorted. I disconnected it and tried my Kurzweil keyboard stereo analog outputs into line inputs 1 & 2 on the console. Same thing, distorted. I then bypassed the console and plugged directly into the Mackie monitors. Perfectly clean audio! I have nothing else even plugged inot the console at this point. What gives? Much Thanks! |

Re: 002 Distortion
I just connected my Powerbook's output to the alt src input while in stand-alone mode and everything sounds fine.
Hmm... I just re-read your post, and it's sounding more like an output problem, rather than an input problem. What outputs are you using? Where's your input level on your monitors? Is it maxed? Seems like it should be fine if your keyboard or cd player sounds clean - they're both line level, as is your PT console... How does the headphone output sound with either of the inputs you mentioned?

Re: 002 Distortion
I am using the left and right RCA monitor output on the 002 in the Standby mode, so that I can control the volume in the room with the monitor volume control.
