Default How do I get Antares Autotune to work in Graphical mode?

I'm OK in automatic but in graphical mode after I correct the pitch with the line function and close the box, the pitch is back to the original. What's up?
It seems like I'm just auditioning the change but not initiating it.

Please help!!

Hi,

You need to bus your output on your tuned track to another track, graphically tune a manageable section at a time and print the tuned section as you go....
This works a lot better than automatic mode.

Hope this helps.

Thanks. That doesn't entirely help me, though, BECAUSE I don't know how to get the tuned section to play anywhere except for in the autotune window. How do I get the tuned music into the edit window?

In your explanation, please be as explicit as possible in your description of the steps needed. What you may assume that I have already done, I may have missed.

PLEASE HELP AGAIN, THANKS!!!!!!

try this

copy your vocal track , insert autotune in graphical , and assign the out of this track in a bus , on the other track , assign this bus in input , press rec and switch auto to input monitor when you want listen the autotune result in graphical ,when it's cool just press rec !

on the first track make 5 play list of your vocal track
1. origin
2.comp
3.autotune soft ( apply autotune retune betwen 35 and 20 in audiosuite)
4.autotune mid ( 13, 9)
5.autotune hard (2, 0)

with only one vocal track
you have 5 play list and the other track with autotune in graphical

comp all this track and if it's no good , change your singer!!!

ToolWeanie- Yea, you do sound like a jerk!

Some of us inherited situations where the manuals aren't easy to locate. This BB is a great place to get quick answers in situations like mine.

I have $300,000 worth of gear in this place but only half the manuals can be found. So, take it easy on me.

Oh come on Toolweanie......

There was a time when you didn't know how to set up autotune.
This is a place where people come for help, not to prove how superior they are.

There are new users every day who need help.
If you don't like their questions, skip them.

Have a nice day.

Far be it from me to beat anybody up on this board. But, here's the manual that is available on Antares web-site

http://www.antarestech.com/downloads /Auto-Tune3_Manual.pdf

From what you're describing, I can't tell if you're using AT in real-time (on the insert of a track) or non real-time (audiosuite). In order to tune properly, in my experience, you need to run AT on the insert of the track in graphical mode.

1. Create a new audio track.

2. Duplicate the playlist of the track you wish to tune and bring up the original playlist on the newly created track.

3. Set the output of your new track (with the original playlist) to an internal buss. Then set the input of your original track to the corresponding buss.

4. Insert the autotune plug-in on the new track.

5. Record enable the original track and set ProTools to input only monitor.

6. Place the cursor before the point you'd like to begin tuning and LEAVE IT THERE.

7. Put autotune in graphical mode and choose track pitch and play a section of the track. You'll see the performance information displayed when you stop.

8. Make any correction adjustments you need to, all the time leaving the cursor in the edit/timeline where you started. It's very important to work within a managable phrase, moving one phrase at a time thru the song without changing the cursor position until you are finished with that phrase(as mentioned in a previous post).

9. When you've completed your corrections, record the tuned vocal onto the original track and move to the next phrase, repeat from step 6.

You're entirely right that autotune will not store your corrected information for you. You have to record that audio onto a new track. If you were using the audiosuite version, you'd just preview the audio and make the adjustments, then hit process. I think this is a flawed method because it doesn't allow you to adjust the pitch in the context of the track.

I hope that helps. I can't get a lot more specific without showing you myself. Perhaps that's why my class on this stuff is always full

Well all this is fine, but how about the audiosuite mode. Not a word about that in the manual, and if, when in graphical audiosuite mode, you do what works for a graphical TDM mode it sure doesn't work the way it should.

I would think graphical mode is THE mode of preference for audiosuite.

Like to know your opinions, cheers, Bob.
