PT 11 Closes Playlists

Hi,

Is there a reason why ProTools has my playlist tracks closed when I re-open a session that I've left them showing in?

I have multiple takes for tracks, and have expanded to show the playlists below the tracks. There are times when I go back to a session and open it, to find that all the tracks' playlists are no longer expanded. Not even a volume graph even. They are closed.

Just curious if this is something I'm doing wrong, or if you know what could be causing it.

What you are referencing is called, "state management".

And here's the reality...

Assume there are 1000 possible settings, and you code to maintain 998 of them. The next morning, your boss will get 500 phone calls from your biggest customers wanting to know why "their" favorite state items are not being maintained.

Coding state management can sometimes be very costly...consequently you can't code all of them. And no matter which ones you do pick to code, you will invariably end up pissing somebody off.

So, you do what you can, and then you go home...

Not true for my setup, PT 11.2.0 HD + Win7. Keeps the track view to playlist, even after rebooting and opening first another session.

And it is not toooooooo hard to to press cmd+alt+ctlr+left arrow.
