It might but I don't remember as that was never something I needed to know. Any particular reason you need to know that? Not disputing it but curious as to why. And what do you mean by numeric length - do you mean how long time-wise the waveform is?

No biggie if it doesn't. As I mentioned, I sample everything into my MPC and construct my song there and sampling the correct length would help, if not, it's no problem.

Do you know how long that Waves SSL bundle sale will last?

Transfuser makes a pretty good replacement for an MPC and sounds tight!

Waves hasn't any info (and they rarely tell) how long the sale will last but even speculating is hard to do as the Abbey Road Plates reverb was on sale for an insane amount of time (like months). There's no telling how long this one will last. If you really like the sound then grab it.

And therein lies another issue - what's your budget like? Because you're looking at not only the SSL collection but also some form of Battery if you've got a tight budget then that's another matter. Ask yourself - what's more important to you if it comes down to having to pick just one. What would I do? Because beats aren't that important to me I'd go for something that will work across multiple uses. Even though I have Battery 3 and 4 my drum program of choice is fxpansion BFD3 but that's not a beats-oriented program.

Not so much of a budget thing, as it's more of a need or want I'm trying to decide. The price drop of the Waves SSL does make it worth while as I have only seen this done once a year.

So grab it then. Why wait and "risk" having to pay more and of it ain't a budget thing then again why wait. No one here knows how long these sales are and Waves sales of SSL haven't been long atball looking back so it might end any day and AD won't have it in sale this low when Waves stops their sale.

And you will never find any plugin VI as great as any Akai MPC unit.

We have the maxed out MPC4000 and MPC2000 with Tag paint limited Edition aswell as the original MPC60 and no software sampler will come close to the real thing ever. If you have an MPC then stop looking at VI.

I would never parts ways with my MPC3000 (got both the OG and LE). But the VI Battery thing was more used as a quicker audition sampler (to hold all my drum sounds) to sample into my MPC. I have loads of drums still on Zip Disk and you should know that the original Roger Linn MPC is limited with memory and 128-sounds. I've been using Pro Tools Workspace for awhile now and it works because I was able to transfer my drums to the computer but the curiosity of having something like Battery to be able to tap in (from a MIDI keyboard controller) to sample into my MPC would be nice. Have you tried anything like this?
