Default Slow Midi editing

Hi; I just got 2019 and a new Win 10 machine. My Sandra will be in the first reply below.
My problem is when I am editing midi, the result is delayed. For example if I try to trim a note the tool does not immediately engage the note. Then there is a 5 second delay before the note is highlighted and the edit appears.

Thanks!!~

Eb

You're not letting the drives sleep are you?
Other than for possible housekeeping/backups why did you partition the Seagate and WD drives? There's no need to.

Yes, I confirm. The same slow downs/delays/freezes when editing midi data, it is something with midi engine in pro tools, not about hardware, I have dual Xeon workstation, I work with midi a lot and never had such problems before 2019.6 appeared :)

I've had the same thing only in large sessions... it can get incredibly sluggish. But it showed up much before 2019.6 in my case

No, they are not sleeping. The reason for the partitions is organization, yes.

So we should all put in tickets with Avid so they are aware of the problem.

So for those having trouble, I got on with Sweetwater support and it helps to make sure the midi editor is closed if you are doing the edits in the edit screen.
