Default Pro tools 8 doesn't recognize 192 i/o

Pro tools 8 doesn't recognize 192 i/o.
PT 8 HD
Lynx Aurora 16
Digi 192 i/o [one analog output card/ one digital output card]

Pro tools 8 HD 2
mac osx 10.5.1 PPC [non intel]
just got the 192 it shows up in the digi test but I cant get the analog output to work...there is no option in the hardware setup
I tried to hook it up on it's own to the core card and get the dreaded no audio interface found message.

The light pipe seems to work going to an adat that goes to my headphone system..but i want to use the analog outs and lose the adat.
thanks

Hi,

Plug in the 192 and power it up first.

Does that help?

I might remember this wrong, but I believe the 192 interface MUST HAVE the first two cards inserted

The modular nature of the Pro Tools|HD system allows you to simply return the specific card, instead of the entire 192 I/O. Your Pro Tools|HD system will continue to function while missing a single card. It will not function if more than one of the factory-installed cards is missing, or if the wrong card is in detected in any of the first three bays.
This is from 192 interface guide so please disregard my previous post. If there are two cards in any proper bays, the interface should function.

Ok I finally found that as well. So I changed the slot that the analog output card was in and now it recognized the 192 and the Lynx as secondary,,but the lynx only has the option of 8 analog outputs in the hardware setting..
How can I set it to see 16 analog outs for the lynx and 8 for the 192??

How do you connect the Lynx to your system? Do you have the expansion card installed which makes it possible to connect the box directly to the card? If so, that should give your Lynx 16 i/o on the PT i/o setup.

Ok finally got it working this morning!! The first problem was the placement of the D/A card in the 192 [it needs to be in slot #2].
And then it was recognized by PT. Then I plugged the 192 into HD card #2 and voila all 3 converters showed up in the I/O and the analog card is now working as well.
Trying now to figure out the spdif output from the 192 to my central Station.

Glad you got it sorted out.

Now the SPDIF thing you do on the I/O setup window. Say you have your analog outputs on 1-8 you just set up the SPDIF to outputs 9-10 for example.

Actually the D/A card can be either in slot #2 where it is supposed to be, or slot #4 which can accept any card. But as the manual says, you need to have two cards installed in slots 1-3 and therefore your D/A card must be in slot #2. That said, you could install another D/A card to slot #4 if you must.
