What is interesting is, I built a PC with one of the new i3 8100 processors and ran the GeekBench test and the 4-Core 3.6GHz i3 Processor is on par with iMac i5-7600 - my score was right around 15000. Also note the i3 8100 is much faster than the last Mac mini i7 Dual core. More cores, Higher scores..
But as mentioned, buy the most processing power you can afford. But if you are doing smaller sessions (40 tracks. or less) I think a new i3 Mac mini with 8-16GB ram would work well. Just my opinion. |
