Default PT 9 installation problems

A little history... I had drama's getting my ilok2 to talk to the ilok.com site from my computer so I ended up using another computer to add the PT 9 key onto the ilok. (see http://duc.avid.com/showthread.php?t=298942 )

I had the latest version of PT 8 installed on my computer (windows 7 64 bit, core i7 ) and used the Pro Tools 9.0.2 Updater.

All stared out fine with the install and I clicked the button to restart my computer when I was prompted to do so. The computer restarted and the install resumed as normal.... Then while "Registering DigiMIDIServices..." , a box popped up saying "Microsoft Register Server has stopped working".

I tried my luck starting Pro Tools 9 anyway and it wouldnt start. The message I got was "PACERegister returned an error. Error -529697949

Thanks in advance for any help!!!!!

Default Re: PT 9 installation problems

Just got PT9 (LE CROSSGRADE VERSION) for my laptop and I kept getting the same, "PACERegister Returned an Error" message after installing and rebooting:

Not sure if anyone has really run into this issue, but for me, it was causing PT9 not to open. Whenever I clicked on the PT9 application, I was getting the message: “Pro tools Application Has Stopped Working” – it was flippin’ annoying.

Anyway, after about an hour of screwing with this, I found a link to fix this problem.

http://avid.custkb.com/avid/app/self...p?DocId=380811

After following the instructions, it cleared up my problem. I’m a happy camper now!!!

Just throwing this out there – enjoy!

Default Re: PT 9 installation problems

What fixed this for me was to re-install iLok driver.
