pro tools export issues
I am a audio post engineer for TV. I'm working on a show at 29.97DF. There are international versions required and they want the audio at a frame rate of 50i, which I assume is 50fps. In my session setup, 50fps is listed in "Time Code 2" but, as I understand it, this is only an additional time display, not a change in tc rate.
How would I go about converting my 29.97DF audio to 50i audio for export? |

Re: pro tools export issues
50i is a video term. The corresponding audio timecode rate is 25fps, AKA PAL.
I am assuming you are working in Pro Tools since you are on the DUC. I would suggest that you output your NTSC (29.97DF) audio, and start a new session at 25FPS. Import the final audio from your show, select copy and select Apply SRC. Under the source sample rate pull down go to 48k pull up/down and select 50050 as your sampling rate. After the conversion you audio will be running at PAL speed. It will also be playing back a semi-tone higher in pitch. Randall |
