Jean, how dead is you Control 24?
Some people have had luck going in cleaning the power connectors.

Basically, it will work fine for about an hour before all of the lights go on and it's useless. I've taken it to a repair shop here in NYC. They supposedly fixed it, but the same issue happened when I got it back to the studio. I brought it back to them. They tested it and said that they left it on for 24 hours with no problems. I brought it back and the same thing happened. I couldn't deal with a third trip and I figured the same thing would happen anyway. They claimed to have cleaned everything and they've worked on tons of Control 24s, so I don't know...

NHAUDIO: what are you using for monitoring?
We're lucky to be using the Grace m906. The monitoring on the Control|24 was dodgy... big jumps in volume on the main pot, scratchy stuff here and there, inability to calibrate well, not enough inputs for different sources, especially when you get into 5.1. The Grace was not cheap, but we could run a session without any controller and be fine... if we had to. I still like faders, though. That's why I don't really care what monitoring capabilities a potential "S3" would have. I just want some solid Eucon control, and the owners of the studio want flashing lights and meter-y thing-ys.

I hear ya. My favorite thing about having a controller is definitely the faders. Otherwise, I might go for the Slate Raven.

I bought it used about 2 years ago. Soon after I bought it, one fader bank started jumping, but it would stop if I moved one of those faders. The all lights on thing started this past summer and got worse as time went on. The repair shop replaced the power supply and cleaned everything. After that the fader stuttering stopped completely, but the all lights on problem persists.

Ethernet is direct to the computer, not through a network...

I think the repair shop owes you a house call. Ether they are wrong or you have a problem in your room.
Have you checked your electrical AC supply? I saw a video dub rack that was acting up when a rack screw got driven into a power cable.

I guess I can try another power supply but it's going into a Furman and the Furman is feeding a few other pieces of rack gear with no problems. It's just odd that it goes berserk after about an hour every time, like clockwork.

Did some experimenting and no luck. I tried the Control 24 into a different Furman which was going into a different outlet and it did the same thing...

Hey guys I was wondering if it's still worth buying an Avid C24 and if so how many years do you think I would get out of it before Avid stop supporting it? I'm looking to buy the bundle for about 20k plus everything else I need and hate to spend that kinda cash and a new product drops in a few months. I have asked around and seems like no one knows anything and even have tried to contact Avid. If you guys know anything please let me know something. Thanks
