struggling to install PT LE 7.3.1

I cannot install LE7.3.1 on my laptop even though i have run the software on this machine before. The problem started when i used a Microsoft Easy Transfer cable to send files from my XP laptop to my Vista machine.

Trying to install Pro Tools the install wizard looks as if it has almost completed then it freezes. There is now a Pro Tools LE icon on my desktop but it does nothing.

I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the software - no joy.

I am having similar issues installing other software that previously worked - Guitarport etc.

I know there is a very similar thread on here but there seemed to be no outcome!

yep, IE 8 is on the machine - i never use it though.

Unfortunately, it has a nasty habit of preventing Pro Tools from opening...

Have removed IE 8 - hey presto Pro Tools has fired up - will now see if i can remember how to use it and see if everything is running properly.
