Trim automation level - one of my favorites went away
Hi duc
I've recently upgraded to PT8 intel, and now it seem like on of my best tools when automating with the d-command went away. Am I missing something? 1. I select a part of the song with the selector tool. 2. I put a channel in latch-trim mode. 3. I press play 4. I make a relative trim that i like to the track. Eg. +2db. 5. I press the "Auto Write All". 6. I press stop. Now I get the questionbox (The last pass inlcuded one or more "write to start" commands...). When I accepted that, I got the relative change I wanted. Not anymore. Now I only get the relative change from the start of the selection til WHERE I STOPPED PT. Any ideas... it used to be my favorite... Best, Boe |

Did you get the lexan overlay? The buttons changed. The dialog box can go away by checking a pref but you'll need the lexan overlay from Digi to relabel the buttons to reflect what they do now.

Hi Chris.
I haven't recieved the Lexan Overlay from Digi yet, but I tried to push the botton that is now the "Auto Write to All" and it makes the change to the whole song - eventhough I have made a selection. Is Drew the same guy as Dmazurek? Or? |

Yes, dmazurek = Drew Mazurek.
They should have automatically sent you the lexan overlay, provided you registered your D Command and are still at the same address. Is is possible that your edit and timeline are unlinked or you are in Dynamic Transport mode? |

Hi Drew
Digi will send me the lexan overlay. Very well. I'll check if the timeline are unlinked or whether I'm in Dynamic transport mode... Thanks. Boe |

Tried it again this morning, and it works now. Don't know what I did wrong yesterday. Thanks.

By the way, with your described workflow you don't NEED to press play. If you know you want to make a 2dB change, make sure you've got Latch Prime in Stop enabled and then make the Trim move and then press Write to All.
Job done and no tape rolled (so to speak).
