Default intel mac mini with original mbox?

Hi guys..newbie here..

So I've decided to go with an intel mac mini with my VERY basic mbox setup but I'm not too sure which one to go with..was wondering if anyone can help me with some questions..

How much more can I get out of pro tools if I went with the 1.83ghz w/2g memory
as opposed to the 1.66ghz w/2g?

I assume no matter what the 1.83ghz would be better overall but since money is kind of an issue, I was wondering how much can I get out of the 1.66ghz with pro tools?

Is the 1.66ghz intel mac mini better than the powerbook 1.67ghz for pro tools?

All I need to do is lay guitar tracks, drum tracks, maybe vocals, and reason adapted etc..but I'd like to do a lot of editing!

plus I'll be running a Lacie external 250g hard drive...would this make a big difference in my decision?

thanks for your help!!

I don't think the small difference in CPU speed will make a noticeable difference.

Are you talking about a PowerBook G4? The Duo CPU in the Mini will beat that.

If the choice is between a PPC and an Intel processor then I'd go with the Intel no doubt. It will probably be better, and most importantly it wills till be supported
