Default Backwards compatible

I am using ProTools LE 7.1.1cs1

I am setting up sessions we scratch tracks

I will take these to a studio using ProTools LE 6.4

Will they be able to open my files?

No, not unless you do a 'Save As..' and choose to save the session in Pro Tools 6 format.
