Default ANY possibility with Intel Celeron?

Has anyone had ANY success with somehow having their MBox work with a PC with an Intel Celeron processor? I am aware that Digidesign claims not to support Celeron, but I would swear that, after toggling some settings, I was able to get away with it for a little while before it was futile again. Looking for some tips or tricks here.

There are no tips and tricks. If you want any kind of performace, the Celeron is just not going to hack it.

I used a celeron for about 6 months on a job, but I was only doing MIDI work in PT at the time. My sessions included one stereo audio track and up to 16 tracks of MIDI; no softsynths or plugins of any kind. The celeron at times couldn't handle even that. 4 tracks of audio would definitely bring it to it's knees.

If you don't want to spend your time working with Pro Tools being totally frustrated, I would definitely suggest using one of the recommended computers.

Also, this part of the forum is for discussions about the MPowered version of Pro Tools. You will have much better success with getting answers to questions about the mbox if you post them in the forum for discussions about the mbox and LE.

It's not really a rule, it's just that not many of the guys using the mbox (the guys that would be able to answer your question) would be hanging out in here. Know what I mean?

I'm one of the weird ones that uses both Pro Tools LE (002R and mbox) and MPowered.
