miking problem?

Dear All,

today i hv my rehearsal with my choir students. My setting are below:

FOH - Mixer 01v96 x2
Choir - Mixer MACKIE ONYX 1620

Microphone on stage
- AKG CK80 for speech
- Shure MX393/S -> Sennheiser SKP100 Plug on tx.

Microphone in front of speaker
- Podium with CK80

Microphone on balcony
- Studio Project C4 x2 pair

The choir are divided into two groups and i use the two pairs of C4 to pickup their vocal which connect to the ONYX -> SKP100 tx -> ew100 Rx -> 01v96

The problem for me is that when the choir sing with electronic organ. There will have "ring" noise, when i increase either the gain/fader. There will have feedback occur.

The level that i got from the choir now having is around 30% to the normal. When they are on stage. I use the same method, they got no problems...

I am sorry for not enough informations for you, what i am suspect is that the C4 pick up the voice from the House Speaker to make it hv "ring"...

could be the position of your speakers that's causing certain frequency to feedback. if you could mess around the eq, you would be able to cut that frequency down.

If you got a graphic eq (you can pick them up new for $99 for basic models)you could experiment with pulling down each individual slider until you found the guilty frequency. Also, if it is possible, you could experiment with speaker/mic placement. Hope that helps and good luck.
