Default Teens Encounter Windows 95

A group of teens recently participated in a session where they encounterd Windows 95 for the first time. Its pretty funny to hear their comments. I know a lot of us here go way back with using computers to create music. Its scary to think that this generation of teens have never known a non-wireless world or an internet-less world. Most have never known a world without the internet in the palm of their hand. Some of us remember Sound Tools. Atari STs with MIDI built in. Amigas. The original Apple Macintosh. Audio tape. Hardware FX processors. The list goes on.

Thats exactly how my sisters would react today

I found an old iPod gen 1 the other day and asked them to fire it up hahaha and scroll songs hahaha a No Go there.

Their minds would literary Explode if I dragged out my old Amiga ST1040 with Floppy authorization for Notator hehe

I feel sorry for them.

We are capable of doing more and more while simultaneously knowing less and less. That's dangerous. Technology is dumbing us down and knowledge is being condensed and coalesced into fewer and fewer people. It'll really come home to roost in the next 20-50 years.

Now, here's Tom with the weather*.....

Yeah. An internet free edit suite or studio is golden. And I can't believe so many people use wireless for their stationary computers/things these days. Wired network is noticeably quicker and stabler. - Have you forgotten? Oh, You've never encountered ...

And I seriously still boot to DOS a couple of times a year for various tasks.

Disk authorization? Didn't the Emagic products authorize through a hardware key, or the Unitor?

Today, young men on acid realize that all matter is really energy condensed to a slow vibration...That we are all one consciousness that peers through itself objectively, there is no such thing as death, life is only a dream within the imagination of ourselves...Here's Windows 95.

I still have my ST and I'll bet it still works even though I haven't booted it up in years. I have all my original floppy disks and some old MIDI files with it. Maybe I should resurrect some of those!!!

Oh, I had a black key that was plugged into the expansion port on the left side of the Atari. Later on I got myself the Unitor.
