Default Deactivating / reactivating DSP algorithms problem

Hi,

I've been having this a few times since updating to 9.0.1? sometimes whilst trying to insert a plugin when i know i have loads of free DSP!! but after the error message and the deactivating/reactivating it does load the plugin

Half way through a current mix today i tried to create a new stereo audio track and got the deactivating- reactivating DSP algorithms

I've got about 20 free chips
only using 80 of 512 time slots
and 114 voices of 192

this is what i get...
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V1CuH...&feature=feedu

The session froze, i rebooted and i had digital distortion on several tracks when i opened the session again! i tried once more to create a new track and the same problem. i went to playback engine and tried to select 6 chips 140 voices and the session crashed.

Now the session starts to open and freezes half way through activating inserts!

Open the session with all plugins inactive and it loads ok! then reactivate the plugs and it plays, but again i can't create any new tracks or insert any plugins!!

Digi test runs ok?

Hi,

I think i've found the cause of the freezing and sessions not opening!!

I appears to be the Serato Rane Series Gate (Again)

This plugs has caused similar problems for me for the past year or so.

It appears to work when i check in a new session, but when i start to use it in a mix i eventually get this problem! i only have 2 inserts in this session.

Haven't got to the bottom of the cause of the de-activating and re-activating issue yet! other than Soundtoys decapitator having this problem, which might cause the issue when creating new tracks and inserting new plugs etc.

Oh happy days would be nice to just have a few months of issue free work.

Do you have the DSP cache on or off? I've found that most strange shuffling problems go away if you turn the cache off (although it's not a real solution, but as a workaround it has proved useful...)

Hi,

No, DSP cache is off!

Another bizarre situation today!! i imported audio tracks using session data, importing into my mixing template. just the tracks and regions only and it did the deactivating and reactivating again I've never had this before using import session data.

There's absolutely no reason why it should be shuffling DSP chips when i'm just importing audio tracks with no plugins and have loads of free chips and resources!!

The biggest pain is when it keeps doing it when i simply assign an output to a track

Did you solve your problem? Or does anyone else know the answer?

I have started encountering this problem since I installed Waves H-EQ. I haven't tried the obvious yet...i.e. uninstalling H-EQ and checking the system, but I think that will be my next step...however it will be a real bugger if it is H-EQ which is causing the problem.
