Default Question about using multiple digital inputs.

Hi,

Bit of a noob question I guess, I've just never had cause to use this functionality before.

My hardware synth collection has finally grown large enough after all these years to need more than the 8 ins my 003 has. Now I know that if you choose to use a digital input with S/PDIF, whether through the RCA jack or optical, you need to make the synth (or digital source) the clock master. Easy enough especially since I leave the synths on all the time.

My question is: what if I use the RCA jack for S/PDIF in from a synth, and then, say, hook up one of these lightpipe 8-ins you can buy on the optical jack and have that jack set to ADAT. How do you set the clock master in this situation? Since there's two digital sources now at this point.

Thx

Suges

Some of the 8 CH ADAT preamps, like this one, have a WC input, so your SPDIF synth is the master, the 003 clocks to that, and the Preamp A/D clocks to the 003..
