DAE error -9507, DAE error -9060

Hello everyone, I am currently making a studio in my room, very cheap. I ordered the M-Audio MobilePre with Protools 8.0.3. and I have some questions.
Why Can't I hear myself when recording? Do I need to buy a studio mixer for the input plug ins? note that my signal and clip lights are not turning on, I have to mess with the cord but they just go off after a second,not sure if its the interface or cords faulty. I had a DAE error -9507 and error -9060 pop on my screen. I have an HP MS225 Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit Service pack 1. Im so confused I just want to fix this up so I can start recording some hip-hop music, anything will help thanks!

I hade same problems on Windows 7 x64 SP1. I changed Pro Tools SE exe file to run under the XP mode Service Pack 3 on complability options. And alos used basic colors option. Try it. It fixed my issue. And also, there was huge delay when playing guitar. It all fixed with that. And also run as administrator.

Ok I have same errors. When I put in my software(also 7 1) it does not give me an option for xp versions. How did you do it?

I am new to all of this
