Default OK I drank the kool aid and went to 10

So far no probs and yes it does seem snappier. I just hope when 11 rolls around, those of us who bought this transitional version will get a break on PT11.

Other than speed, any performance gains?

I've been using it for a day or so and not really noticing any real performance gains. Im using the regular PT10 with no CPTK or anything so I don't have the luxury of disk cache settings and such.

Not noticing any increase in speed when rendering fades or anything although I have yet to fade more than 4 tracks at the same time. I did import some audio into a session and it didn't have any real difference in speed from PT9. Will report more here as well as I use it more

For me I experience a jump and speed and performance. RTAS seem to take less CPU/RAM, not a whole lot less but it helps. Also the session it's self doesn't take 30% of CPU and RAM like it used to. Over all its a nice update, though for my interface 96 kHz sample rate no longer works, I'm sure it will in either an update to pro tools or the Saffire mix control application.

96khz doesn't work .... What kind of bs is that? If this is true then a total reason not to upgrade. I record in96 all the time.

It seems to be a limitation of the Saffire Pro 40 specifically. A driver update is in order from Focusrite. Not a reflection of the software. My Liquid Saffire 56 records in 96k with PT10 just fine.

yeah, im sure the saffire pro 40 issue will be fixed soon. either way it was worth the upgrade, one thing i really like is the huge jump for ADC. Anytime i wanted to use a auto tuning rtas plug in it would jump to a point passed what ADC was willing to work with, now that problem is solved. Also the channel strip plug in is well worth upgrading, damn is it good for stock plug in... then again pro tools 10 isn't free so you kind of are paying for that sort of quality. I am also looking forward to waves introducing their plug ins in the AAX format, im hoping it's just part of their standard native bundles and not a separate bundle like TDM would have.
