Default Can anybody confirm this problem?

I have encountered a strange problem since I started to use Pro Tools hd. my system is below:
HP xw8400 pc workstation w/ 2 GB memory and dual monitors, OS is xp pro sp2, Pro tools hd1, 96 I/O, command 8, software version is 7.3.1 cs5, and I have installed all the updates and patches.

it's until now that I find out how to repeat the problem, just like these steps below:

1. creat a new sesstion and a audio track, import a audio file, repeat it for several times until the end of the sessionn is more than 60 minutes ( here I'm not sure but feel that the longer the more chances there are to encounter the problem). set scrolling mode to continous mode or center playhead mode.

2. click some where in the middle of the session. then keep zooming in until you can't zoom in any further. as you zoom in, you will notice that the slider bar at the bottom of the edit window will become shorter and shorter. but for the last level I zoom in, the slider bar changes to a full length bar and fills the whole length of the bottom of the edit window.

3. now zoom out for one level, the slider bar becomes a very short bar just as it should be. and the view is still in the middle of the session. but if I click the slider bar now(for I want to click and drag the bar to explore the time line), the view of the edit window will jump to the end of the session immediately, and the slider bar also jumps to the far right hand of the edit window. and I can't drag the slider bar now, since if I click and drag the bar to the left, as soon as I release the mouse, the slider bar will jump to the far right hand position, the view is still at the end of the session.

4. there's one way to defeat this strange behavior, that's to zoom out all the way. and as far as I don't zoom in to the last level any more, I can drag the slider bar to explore the time line without any problem.

by the way , all the pro tools 7.3.X versions have this problem.

I've had this problem many times in various versions of Pro Tools. I think it might have started in version 7.0, but am not sure about that.

thanks for confirming.

as for "various versions of Pro Tools", do you mean various versions of hd or hd, le and m-powered?

I only have PT HD. I don't know if this problem exists in LE, etc., but my best guess is that it does. Likely the section of code with this bug in it is common to all Windows versions of PT.
