intel macs vs. slightly older macs
Hey guys, I've been out of the loop as far as paying attention to the new intel macs, as I have a newer dual 2.5 G5 (not intel). But I'm thinking of upgrading my home setup......just wanted to get some opinions from people who've worked with both the intel macs and the older macs....do you think the new iMac (2.8GHz Intel Core 2 Extreme 2GB memory) would be able to run more plug-ins in pro tools LE than my dual 2.5 G5 (not intel)??? If so, would it be a big enough difference to make the upgrade?? Also, how would my old G5 compare to the new Mac Pro's Quad 2.0GHz Intel Xeon Two 2.0GHz Dual-Core Intel Xeon processors.....thanks for the help.

Re: intel macs vs. slightly older macs
my estimation is that you would have about a 50% performance boost moving from a dual 2.5 g5 to a new dual core 2.8ghz intel imac. someone correct me if i am wrong...taking in to account faster ram, etc...
