PT 12.1 Release today?

Click on the different scope selections and note the changes.

Avid was at a low of 7.52 about a year ago. Then i peaked to about 17.90 about a month ago. In the last month it has dropped from 17.90 to about 13.11. Still close to twice it's value a year ago, but still a marked drop in just one month. Not sure what it all means as I don't do the stock market I try to make music. I've read here (and there) that investors, not customers drive a public company's policies. If that's the case, we're all just farts in a hurricane.

I truly deplore the new licensing and PT12 rollout. I also have no interest in 90% of what AVID is up to with this release. Further - being a very longtime PTHD owner I also am appalled at pretty much every move over the last year including 12.1 and what it brought to HD folk. Regarding ..The "major stability improvements"

On the Avid blog they listed these.

Pro Tools 12.1 includes updates for AudioSuite, Bounce, Delay Compensation, Editing, Audio and Video Engines, I/O Setup, MIDI, and Satellite workflows to further improve stability.

I'd love to give insight, but I haven't noticed any of them. Evidently the stability enhancements are in areas I wasn't having problems previously.

Wow. Wow. Wow again.

That would explain the change in stock price. Actually, if there is any truth to this report it's amazing that the drop hasn't been more dramatic. It's dated 6/24/15.

They are basically saying that Avid has been misrepresenting its financials for the last five years. Basically saying they have been propping up their stock price for the last few years. Questioning the Q1 2015 results.

EDIT: Reading the comments, several have accused the authors of writing a "hit piece". That they shorted the stock, then wrote the report in an attempt to drive the stock price down. What is the truth?

They should just sell to PreSonus.

They can then manage it as a separate product or implement all the good bits of Pro Tools that we love into Studio One.

I'm joking of course, but the overall idea is not that crazy. Sell to a company who can actually manage such a software product and has the team to keep it up to date and add features etc.
