Default Upgrade from First to Pro Tools - Things to avoid, etc?

Hey there,
Just about to subscript to Pro Tools, and I'm wondering what is the RIGHT way to do it, I mean: should I delete Pro Tools First before downloading PT?

Any and every hint will be greatly appreciated.
I really don't want to mess with this.

TKS!

You don't need to uninstall Pro Tools First. These are 2 different Installations.

Most people here will agree that the best way to get a stable PT system is build it from the ground up with a clean install of mac OS.

So basically, if I were you, I'd get an external drive, install Mac OS and PT on it. Do some testing, and if something is not working, you can always choose to boot from your internal w/First. Then erase the external and try again.

This way you can build your setup, install plugins and iron out problems, until you have a solid setup. Then copy the whole thing onto the internal if you want, and start using the external for backup.

You might consider going to Catalina, if your mac qualifies.
