chasing the snare with a new snare sound
i've just recorded the drum kit and the snare sound is not all there ..
so i would like to add another snare sound... is there a way maybe with beat detective or some way to recreate the snare performance on another track... and drop in a new snare sound to be mixed with the original? any ideas would be so great thanks |

Re: chasing the snare with a new snare sound
+1 for those. I use Drumagog and like it much better than Sound Replacer(which certainly does work). If the performance is simple enough, you could paste new samples(using Tab to Transient for exact placement) buts tedious. Massey has a plugin called DTM that can turn an audio track(your snare) into a midi track so you can use it to trigger a midi snare sample. DTM is free if you purchase any other plugin from them and they have some solid performers available, like the L2007 mastering limiter and a tape simulator.

Re: chasing the snare with a new snare sound
I've always been a soundreplacer guy... As of late I do the same, but now w/DTM, I use that after I get the tracks pocketed from soundreplacer & then make a midi track from my cleaned pocketed track so all of what I need &/or don't need is there... I usually blend a few snares...

Re: chasing the snare with a new snare sound
I like to use TL drum rehab, though I've yet to find the best workflow to encorporate it.
