Default new - need some help getting started

Im new to pro-tools and the board, so I hope I posted in the correct spot.

I am looking for some opinions and suggestions. I have a iMac and am wanting to buy a 003 to do some home based project recording. I will mainly track guitar, bass, vocals, and eventually drums. My question is would you suggest getting the 003 with or without the bundle for my needs? For now I will be wanting to create drum loops to track over before I get proper drums, and will probably need some type of auto-tune type software for the vocals, various guitar and bass amp modeling and effects, and general overall track effects.

What would you suggest? If you would suggest me buying the 003 without the bundle and purchasing seperate plugins, which ones should I look into so I can be up and running.

I dont plan to make the best sounding recording out there, but would like something of decent quality, this is more for hobby purposes.

Thanks

The Ignition pack sounds perfect for your needs, I'd definitely start there.

Ok great.

One more question. I have found a 002 with the bundle for approx. $800, and the 003 with the bundle is about $1500 I believe. Would I be smarter to go with the 002 to save the $700 for my needs? I want something that will last for a while and won't be quickly outdated.

Get the 002, use the money for a nice microphone or mic pre.

You can do exactly what you want on the 002 and then some as Slim said with the ignition pack. There isn't a significant difference in terms of capability, but, there is apparently a significant improvemnet in sound of the 003 compared to the stock 002.
This issue has come up a time or two here!

Yeah, I'm sure it has, I have been reading through the posts. That 002 is not with the bundle as I had thought, I just found out.
