Default PT9 Aggregate Audio/ I/O routing/config?

Hi,

I just installed PT9 on my Mac Pro and am using it
with MOTU PCIe-424-based interfaces as well
as an M-Audio Project I/O.

I configured both the PCIe-424 stuff and the Project I/O
with their respective drivers and selected Aggregate AUDIO
as my playback engine/etc. in PT9.

Under the I/O menu in PT9, I see a selection of outputs
and inputs most likely resembling the ones I've configured
as active on my PCIe-424 2408's as well as the
Project Mix I/O.

I've started the process of defining them and testing them to
make sure they are pointing at the right place on the HW and
for the most part it seems to be working.

There just aren't many hints in PT9 as to which devices are
where on I/O matrix it has me editing and I look towards the
time when my I/O hardware changes and I need to edit it
again.

As far as I can tell, the only way to alter/edit an existing matrix
is to delete all the old entries (unless you're trying to edit the
ones on the far right end) and rebuild the whole thing from scratch.

Is this true? I'd love to find an easier way of doing it since that
combined with the lack of meaningful labels on the inputs and
outputs numbered on the matrix makes it hard to do the trial
and error testing to know that what you think you're pointing at
really is what you are pointing at.

I can understand if PT doesn't have access to the names of
the external HW and it's inputs and outputs (even though
OSX seems to) but given that, I'm hoping there is an easier
way to actually edit the matrix.

What do you know/think?

Thanks,

Jon
