Default Mp3 rendering in 6.4

While doing some bounce to discs today I decided to try rendering with the Mp3 option for the first time but I couldn't do it. I got a window telling me I had to enter a registration code. Is there some Mp3 option upgrade that I missed?

Yep. Usually you can demo it for 30 days first, but you might've activated your demo once and not remember, so if it's asking only for the code you'll need to buy it.

I guess it costs $19.95 for the Mp3 upgrade option. Now I'm wondering if it's worth even that small amount. What I did was import the stereo .aiff file into the free Audacity program and from there exported it out as an Mp3. Is there any difference in these two options? Any different in quality or anything else other than the twenty dollars?

You can do it with iTunes too. It's just an extra step, so if you're doing a lot of MP3 bouncing it's easier to buy the codec, but if it's just an occasional thing for you using another application will be fine.

Thanks for the info. I'll think I'll wait it out and see how annoying it gets to have to use another app. for Mp3 conversion. You'd think that by now Digi would just let this one be a freebie.....jeeesch.
