If we go with PT12 do we surrender our PT10 license?

I haven't found any threads about this. I like that 10 works well on Maverick and Win 7, loads 32 bit plugs, and I can use 11 for projects that require quick bounces and updates.
I'm hoping that an upgrade to 12 that was already included in my PT 11 purchase won't wipe out my PT 10 license

Great question.

It should NOT force 10 to be surrendered because 12 is replacing 11, which was meant to coincide with 10.

The license bundle that Oblivion777 lists is not a beta license.

It means his PTHD bundled license will authorize Pro Tools non-HD and HD 11 and 10 now, Pro Tools non-HD and HD 12 when it is released, and any upgrades available through the term of that Upgrade/Support plan, which runs through whatever date in 2016 for when he purchased his upgrade plan.

If he purchased the upgrade between October 10 and December 31, 2014, that would include upgrades through March 31, 2016.

If purchased in 2015, that would include upgrades for 1 year from date of activation into 2016.

Even if the license is set to "Never" - it won't mean anything if Pro Tools 12 or future versions force us to surrender our PT10 license in order to upgrade.

I'm very concerned about this. I have many older sessions with plugins that will never be compatible with Pro Tools 11 and higher. I want to be able to go back in if necessary. I don't think we should ever be forced to give up our PT10 license. I would like to see confirmation that we will never be asked to.

If you do upgrade like Bruce said above... You will have to surrender your current pt10 License BUT.... You get 3 back.... PT10 PT11 and PT12...

From what I see, Pro Tools 10 is included in that list of licenses. You will still be able to use PT10 if you upgrade to PT12.

Hi,

I think he is asking 2 questions?

1. will PT10 EVER be taken away? PT13 / PT14 etc
2. If you choose NOT to renew your support plan, does PT10 stop working as well now its part of a bundle on a plan.
